It’s been a bit over a month since Con-way Freight announced its TrueLTL Pricing model.  You can read the press release for the details, but in a nutshell, TrueLTL is a capped pricing model for “large” LTL shipments-i.e., shipments generally between 2,000 and 20,000 pounds that can fit in a 28-ft trailer (a “pup”).  Many of these shipments currently go via truckload or multi-stop truckload because traditional LTL pricing… Continue reading

The big news last Thursday on the “green” front was Walmart’s announcement of its Sustainable Product Index.  Just three days later, India’s Environmental Minister, Jairam Ramesh, underscored the large hurdles that exist in establishing global standards and agreements on climate change and sustainability.  “There is simply no case for the pressure that we [India], who have among the lowest emissions per capita, face to actually reduce emissions,” Ramesh
