This was a relatively quiet week, but here are some items that caught our attention:

As you might recall, this past February we held a seminar on performance-based outsourcing (aka vested outsourcing). We had a great lineup of speakers, including folks from Whirlpool, Del Monte Foods, Penske Logistics, Transplace, Unipart Logistics, and a former executive from Thermadyne Holdings. I was recently briefed by the executive leadership team of the GENERIX Group, a leading supply chain execution software vendor headquartered in France. One of its customers is Carrefour, the second largest retailer in the world. Carrefour is ramping up consolidation centers (CC) in Europe. RedPrairie, an ARC client, held its annual user conference, RedShift 2010, in Orlando last week. It was the company’s largest user conference ever. The two biggest news items from the event were the CEO’s explanation for why RedPrairie was acquired earlier this year by New Mountain Group and RedPrairie’s acquisition of SmartTurn, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) multitenant WMS solution.
