GE Appliances Deploys Autonomous Mobile Robots

GE Appliance sought to automate the movement of materials from the dock to the production line. They piloted AMRs from Agilox. That pilot was successful and GE Appliance is now deploying these robots at scale.

Value Beyond the Task: The Benefits of Robotics Outside Immediate Workflows

What’s the operational and strategic value of robotics? This question is more important now than ever, as businesses look to robotics to overcome labor challenges and increase operational flexibility. Flexibility is a strategic concept summarizing the elasticity a warehouse needs to adapt to market changes and skyrocketing consumer expectations. Helping to address flexibility in the warehouse is the newer robotics market for autonomous mobile robots (AMR). This technology is extending the capabilities of warehouses, people, […]

Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) Come of Age

The key for AMRs is that they enable workers to be more productive due to constant collaboration. During Steve Banker’s panel discussion on AMRs at ARC Advisory Group’s Forum last week, the four panelists made two key points about AMRs. First, robots are not replacing human workers, but rather, are assisting them. Second, warehouse labor is becoming harder to find and more expensive to train and retain. These two reasons are why there will be an increase in AMRs in the warehouse.

Smart Robots in Logistics are Everywhere!

Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) are seen as smart, automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) as stupid. That is way too simple. AMRs are actually just one form an intelligent AGV can take. And both AGVs and AMRs exhibit a broader range of intelligence than is commonly understood.
